Messages or information you might need

Next week, I will not be here for most of the week.  I will be here Tuesday, and then back again Monday next week.  We have our Mlle Smith who will still be here to hold the fort down along with an amazing substitute teacher, Mme King,  who according to our students is the best!  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me, I will still be around my phone and computer.  If I can't help you or you need it dealt with ASAP, please call Mlle Smith, Mme King or Mme Phipps and they will surely help you.

Thank you !  We have all the hairstylists we need now.  If you wish to come and watch the Haircuts for Kids in the gym @ 1:00 on Friday, September 25, please feel free to do so.  We have some very brave children cutting their beautiful hair.  We also have one of our students' uncles getting his beard shaved off along with a parent who is getting her beautiful long hair cut too.  It should be a fun although emotional time for all of us.   See you there!

IF YOU KNOW OF ANY HAIRSTYLISTS WHO WOULD VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND TALENT FOR US FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH, PLEASE ASK THEM TO CONTACT ME.  OUR HAIRSTYLISTS BACKED OUT FOR THE CUTS FOR KIDS/CANCER AND WE NEED TO FIND AT LEAST 2-3 BECAUSE WE HAVE 5 STUDENTS AND 2 ADULTS CUTTING THEIR HAIR THAT AFTERNOON.

Picture day is October 8th.
ALL Bosster Juice forms MUST be in tomorrow as there will be no late forms taken.


New dictée test sheet is in the orange notes duo tang.  There is one sheet with 2 dictées there for the next 2 weeks. 

Please ask your child if he/she has any unfinished work that needs to be done at home.  It should be in their agenda, backpack or orange duo tang.

Mathematics

Multiplication and division facts need to be learn by heart.  As a school we are all working on math goals this year.  If you would like a copy of all the MAD MINUTE SHEETS that we will be working on this year, please let me know.  I can also send you a plastic sheet so your child can write on it (with a non permanent marker) instead of the paper, so he/she can use the same sheet over and over again.


Please review addition of 3 and 4 digit numbers at home.  We are doing this at school and some students are forgetting to carry over.  

If your child is not feeling comfortable with his/her multiplication tables please have him/ her practice with some sheets from school.  Let me know and I will send them home or email them to you.

Chapters 6-8 should be read this week.  Please ask your child if they have completed these chapters, if they have not, please have them do so by Friday, October 16.  On Friday, there will be a quiz on what has been read and done so far.


Chapter 4 & 5 questions in Pit Pony need to be complete for Tuesday October 13.  Any work not complete will be done at study hall on Tuesday.

Your child should have Pit Pony chapters 1-4 inclusive for Monday please.  We are doing activities for these chapters and he/she needs to have read these chapters to be able to complete the activities.

If your child brought a paper jersey home today, he/she has homework.  Please have them write, in pencil, on the line sheet, what at least 3 symbols and their meaning.  This needs to be done in full sentences.

Your child brought Library books home yesterday.  He she should be reading for at least 15 minutes per night in English with a book that is at his/her level.

Physical Education



This year Phys Ed is going to look a little different.  We are still going to play some competitive games.  As well, as the curriculum states we will be doing other activities in the gym that still get us to move, but in different ways.  We have spoken to the students about it already.

This week is a little more relaxed. We have pictures on Thursday, so wear your best smiles to school that day.  We will not have a spelling test this week, but there will still be a Dictée test.


Bonjour/Hello Everyone

Thank you for all your help and support with the Cuts for Cancer and Terry Fox Run on Friday.  We raised money for a family who will be travelling because their little son is sick with Childhood leukemia. As well we raised money for the Terry Fox Foundation. 

This week I am away.  Mme King will be in with Mlle Smith.  I will still be in contact with these teachers this week. 

We have the QSP Kickoff so your child will be coming home with some paper work to help them sell magazines again this week.

Tomorrow is the deadline to get your Scholastic order forms in.  Please have them in by the end of the day.

Spelling and Dictée pre tests are Wednesday and Tests on Friday.



Hello Everyone Bonjour tout le monde

This week is pretty mellow at the beginning. 
The Booster Juice forms are due on the 23rd of September. 
We do have the Terry Fox Walk and the Cuts for Cancer on Friday starting at 1:00.  
Everyone is invited to come and watch and maybe take part!

Anything posted on this page is new for the week.  Please remember to go back to each subject page a remind yourself(student) or your child (parent) of the homework posted before this week.  Any homework not done at home will be done at noon Study Hall.
This week there will be still lots of playground activity with the new playground.  Please advise your child to stay off any mound of dirt or gravel that might be there, as well as the new playground equipment.  It is still not ready and they will be advised when it is ready. 
Throwback Thursday is this week on the 17th of September.  Please have your child dress in "50's" attire if they so choose.

NOTES FOR THE WEEK:
This week we are working on implementing our Classroom Beliefs. We are working hard at trying to be better friends to all the students in our class.  We are also working on the tone in our voice and the way we send a message using body language.  We are making sure that our classroom is always a safe place to be.
